X FACTOR 2024 starts on Thursday 12 September the new edition. The final will be in Naples

Music news

The new edition of X Factor starts on Thursday 12 September on Sky Uno.

Many new faces will fill the stage of the 2024 edition of the show which will see its culmination with the final, which for the first time in the international history of the format will take place outdoors, in the wonderful Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples.

A great free event co-organized with the Municipality of Naples, full of guests and entertainment, in one of the most loved and visited architectural and artistic places in the country.

This year too, hundreds of artists showed up at the Auditions at the Allianz Cloud in Milan with the dream of showing off their talent and creating the longest possible journey, and here they met the new cast of X Factor.

THE HOST

Giorgia, one of the most incredible and beloved voices in Italian music, who arrives in the X Factor family with a new role, leading this edition: in the selections she will go on stage to introduce and close the evenings, but she will also be backstage with the difficult task of encouraging and advising the kids a second before they enter the stage and welcoming them as soon as the performance is over, whatever the outcome of the vote.

THE JUDGES

The table of the four judges of this edition is also completely new. Three of them are making their absolute debut on the jury at #XF2024: Achille Lauro, one of the most interesting personalities of the Italian artistic scene today with his unmistakable identity, from protagonist of the urban-street world he quickly became a glam icon, punk-rocker, pop star and author capable of dismantling every stereotype, always ready to renew himself and move easily between genres and eras in the world of music, fashion and art; Jake La Furia, a surprising and multi-channel artist, a rapper with a career spanning almost 25 years, first with Club Dogo and then as a soloist, before a highly applauded and highly anticipated reunion – which took place in January 2024, after 10 years – of Club Dogo, protagonists of a highly successful tour in arenas and stadiums; and Paola Iezzi, singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and DJ, known for her recording successes in the duo Paola & Chiara with whom she has released 8 studio albums, 4 international albums and 3 collections and with whom she has returned to being the absolute protagonist of the music scene from Sanremo 2023, where they were competing with the hit Furore, until today, when they are becoming very popular with the song Festa totale.

It is a return, instead, that of the highly acclaimed Manuel Agnelli, who once again wears the role of judge enriched by an experience of 5 editions already lived always as a protagonist in search of victory; his is a multifaceted artistic biography: singer-songwriter, musician and record producer, founder and frontman of the Italian rock band Afterhours.

PROGRAM PHASES AND NEWS

For the judges, the work will be as complex and full of unexpected events as ever. They will begin their intense work with the various stages of the selections: inside the Allianz Cloud in Milan, with the public as the “fifth judge” (or rather, a real “senate”, as Achille Lauro defined it during the episodes), the four – who immediately appeared close-knit, complicit and brilliant – will listen to and evaluate all of this year’s aspiring contestants in the AUDITIONS – for three Thursdays, September 12, 19 and 26, at 9:15 pm on Sky Uno and streaming on NOW.

A phase during which the kids will present themselves to the judges and the audience in the stands with unreleased songs or covers, but above all bringing a wide variety of genres to the stage: pop, urban, singer-songwriter music and rock in all its declinations and contaminations, electronic atmospheres and other more intimate moments thanks to performances accompanied by pianos and guitar arpeggios. For all of them, the goal will be to get the three fateful yeses needed to continue their journey. However, even just one could be enough to conquer the next step: from this year, in fact, the judges will have a special X Pass in their hands, a bonus to be assigned to just one artist each to grant them the possibility of directly accessing their Bootcamp.

Then it will be time for the two BOOTCAMP evenings (3 and 10 October), the second level of the selections, in which each judge will find the 11 artists they have chosen in their team plus, obviously, their own X Pass. It is the step of the highly sought-after but feared chairs, the hardest one for the judges ever because it forces them to make switches between the “temporarily” promoted artists, and this year it will be even more insidious for them: the chairs at their disposal will be only four, and this will mean even more switches for the judges and with them even more doubts and more or less tormented reflections.

The selection phase ends with the HOME VISIT, the last level before the Live, a tense appointment awaited for Thursday 17 October: four aspiring competitors for each judge, who in the last very tense moments will play it all, performing again to obtain the chance to participate in the live episodes in the trio that will make up each official team. It will then be time for the LIVE SHOW from the Teatro Repower in Milan, which will begin on Thursday 24 October.

To conclude the edition, the long-awaited FINALE event in Naples in Piazza del Plebiscito, Thursday 5 December.
