X FACTOR 2024 “Hell Factor”: The Foolz eliminated. Report cards and live comments

Music news

The “Hell Factor” evening begins, a decisive moment that involves a double elimination among the competing artists. As every week, we will follow the show live, with comments and report cards on each competitor's performances.

THE MECHANISM

As per tradition, the episode of “Hell Factor” will open with the “carousel”, a tight parade in which the competitors will perform one after the other with their warhorse, immediately leading to the first elimination.

A single round of covers will follow between the remaining competitors, which will lead to a run-off between the two least voted: a “final clash” in which the judges will decide who will leave the program. We will tell you every detail, from the performances to the judgments, with our report cards ready to decree the best of the evening.

REPORT CARDS

Lorenzo Salvetti with “I'm drunk” by Mannarino: the “child prodigy” put to the test with his “crazier” side, with the risk of distorting his intimate nature but his talent manages to make credible even an assignment apparently far from his nature. Aware and intense voice.
Rating: 7+

Danielle with Vasco Rossi's rock classic “Liver, liver mushy”: Manuel worries that “he doesn't know how to be on television”, when his main thought should be that last week he shamelessly went out of tune with “Salirò”. For the first time armed with a guitar, he seems decidedly more at ease, vocally and as a stage presence and he redeems himself.
Rating: 7

Frankly with “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd: the terror of every phoniatrician performs in the usual terrible English on an acoustic cover that takes up Loi's version. Even though he has serious vocal problems and technical limitations, he always manages to bring home the performance with his personality and stage presence, even if the scratch was missing.
Rating: 6

LOWRAH with “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi: Paula is trying to emotionally undress Laura to create empathy with the audience that has so far been lacking, however assigning her a song that is not suited to her tone. Comparing it to the original makes his performance seem flat and banal.
Rating: 5 1/2

Les Votives with”Our Song” by Mace feat. Blanco & Salmo: an assignment on paper that is very far from their world (“chic rock”?), but they bring it home (more musically than vocally). Laura only misses when she makes assignments to Lorenzo.
Rating: 6+

Mimi with “The evening of miracles” by Lucio Dalla: finally an assignment in Italian for Mimì and emotionally impressive, unlike the pseudo-alternative songs that Manuel has given her (emptily) so far. Less clean than the version of her colleague Camilla Musso from 6 years ago, without disturbing the interpretative wisdom of that of Mannoia. Weak low parts, refrain too pushed, even if he tries to give value to every word. One might have expected a masterpiece, but instead it was a half-successful operation.
Rating: 6 and a half

THE PATAGARRI with “Summertime” by Ella Fitzgerald: they pay homage to a jazz legend while managing to be both badass and elegant but also boring for 3/4 of the performance; then the vocalist's tone becomes excessively heavy, ending with cohitus interruptus. Among their performances, one of the least successful, little more than an exercise in style.
Rating: 5 and 1/2

PUNKCAKE with “Do you love me?” of the CCCP: after showing his butt last week, Damiano
