British rock band Idles will release their fifth album, “ Tangk “, next week.
Idles was passing through Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon to perform their recent single, “ Gift Horse “. The punk-tinged song, released last month, is an intense rock track that’s even more intense live.
“ Gift Horse » will appear on the fifth album of the British group, Tangk, which will be released on February 16 by Partisan Records. The album was produced by Nigel Godrich, Kenny Beats and Mark Bowen of Idles, and is the follow-up to Crawler, the band’s 2021 album. The band previewed the album with “ Dance ”, a collaboration with James Murphy and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem.
Frontman Joe Talbot recently told the NME that ” Dance » is emblematic of what the album will be. “ When I started this album, I told Bowen, “I want to make people dance, I want people to feel the love that I need in my life, I want to make them move, I want our music is contagious again, and I want it to be contagious in a way that makes people feel, not think. I want to feel like I’m part of something electric again. I wanted to develop and transgress Crawler of 2021, which marked the start of something new for us. When something feels as electric as CrawlerI just wanted to continue, and evoke a sense of purpose. »
In a statement posted on social media, the group said: “ I needed love. So I did it. I gave love to the world and it’s magical. This is our album of gratitude and power. Only love songs. Everything is love. »
