Music news

No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani also spoke about the group’s upcoming reunion at Coachella.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to premiere their new single “ Purple Irises “. With a sea of purple irises and a purple backdrop, the duo delivered a dynamic rendition of the track, accompanied by their live band.

Both artists released the song last week. Produced by Scott Hendricks, it was co-written by Stefani with Svante Halldin, Jakob Hazell and Latin singer-songwriter Niko Rubio.

Stefani also sat down with host Jimmy Kimmel to talk about the single and working on the song with her husband. The singer also spoke about No Doubt’s upcoming reunion at Coachella in April.

It’s crazy, she declared. This is going to be amazing. I’m so excited and I think what’s going to be hilarious is I know what’s going to happen. I’ll go on stage, look around and start laughing. It will be like cycling. We will say to ourselves: “What are we doing here? We are in the future.” »

She adds that they haven’t started rehearsing yet. “ I don’t remember, no Stefani replied when Kimmel asked if she remembered all the No Doubt songs. I don’t remember it at all. I think I’ll have to learn eight or nine. »

The singer has teamed up with Shelton several times in the past. The duo, who met on the set of The Voice in 2014, shortly after their respective divorces, collaborated on the Christmas song “ You Make It Feel Like Christmas » in 2017. They also released a duet, « Love Is Alive », last year in tribute to Wynonna Judd.
