Video interview – BIAGIO ANTONACCI: in life you are always at the beginning of something

Music news

Biagio Antonacci returns after five years with a new album of unreleased songs. “L’INIZIO” is the title of Antonacci’s sixteenth studio album.

Biagio has chosen to title his new recording work starting from the title of the only song not signed by the singer-songwriter, “The Beginning”, written for him by Giorgio Poi.
It is only the second time in his now thirty-year career that the Milanese artist has not written a song on one of his albums; it had happened before only in 2014 with “Le Veterane”, written, produced and arranged by Paolo Conte.

In a long message Giorgio Poi had written to Biagio:

You stay alive as long as you have the enthusiasm to start something, to generate a spark and turn it into a project, a love, a friendship, a job, a song, a child.
Being able to get excited is being able to live.
Other forces will then make those sparks flame, pushing us to protect them with our hands and blow on them to make them grow, but there is no universe without a Big Bang”.

Biagio made these words his own, so much so that he decided to sing them and give his new album the title of this song which summarizes many of the contents of the album.

For me, change represents new energy, vitality, new horizons to reach and instead it is too often associated with a lack of coherence because we are tied to stereotypes, habits – says Biagio Antonacci –
In today’s society, change becomes an act of courage.
Let’s ask ourselves how many relationships continue due to inertia because a new beginning is tiring just to think about?

We met Biagio and chatted with him on the eve of the release of his album.
