INTERVIEW – For its 37th edition, the Telethon asked Vianney to be its sponsor. A role that the singer takes very seriously.

The Telethon begins this Friday, December 8 for 30 hours of exceptional broadcasts in support of research. For this 37th edition, Vianney was chosen as sponsor. A role of which he is “extremely proud”, as he explained to us recently. Presented in particular by Nagui and Sophie Davant, the show will begin at 6:40 p.m. on France 2. Last year, the operation raised some 91 million euros. Donations up compared to 2021 and even the best result since 2016.

“I thought the Telethon…”

“I am experiencing something extremely strong.” Impressed by the work of the AFM-Téléthon, which he understands even better in his capacity as 2023 sponsor, Vianney takes his role very seriously: “I was extremely honored that they offered it to me. On the other hand, I really understood the scale of the task because I had talked about it with my sponsors and friends. So I know it’s demanding, but I’m ready for it. »

“I thought that the Telethon was a somewhat basic association to which you entrusted money (…) But not at all. The Telethon is money that directly benefits their research. This Généthon has a huge complex where there are around 3000 scientists working to solve these rare disease problems. They have already had a lot of results. We are in an association which has enabled major discoveries in the field of messenger RNA and myopathy, which has saved babies, which is changing the daily lives of parents and patients today. »

To support the Telethon, donations can be made on the Telethon website before the launch of the show and throughout the duration of the event.
