Music news

Tony Hadley’s new album is called “The Mood I’m In”.

The release of the new album is scheduled for April 12, 2024 and will arrive 5 years after his last studio work “Talking To The Moon” to mark a new phase in his career.

A swing recording project, totally new for Hadley, who has always been a great lover of rock. This project will be a work of charm and sophistication in Hadley’s illustrious career.

Immediately after the release of the album, in May, Tony Hadley, for just 3 exclusive dates, will bring the new show linked to the album, THE BIG SWING TOUR, to Italy. The tour will start on May 18th from Padua, Gran Teatro Geox and will continue towards Milan, TAM Teatro Arcimboldi Milan on May 19th to end with the date in Ancona, Teatro Le Muse, on May 21st.

My love for swing music started when I was very young. The preparation of Sunday lunch was always accompanied by classics by Sinatra, Bennett and many others…
Years later, when we formed our first band at school, which would eventually become Spandau Ballet, my parents urged me to never forget the classic jazz singers, even though I loved punk rock and was getting serious about pursuing a career as a professional singer.

So there I was listening to the Sex Pistols and The Clash along with Tony Bennett and Jack Jones!

I have always loved performing live, but this swing tour is totally different from our normal rock concerts! I would like audiences to enjoy a night of incredible songs from an incredible era of music, along with some great songs from my repertoire.” – Tony Hadley.

THE BAND

During the tour, Tony will be accompanied by Italian musicians from the Jazz Company directed by Maestro Gabriele Comeglio, with whom he will perform a repertoire that includes classics by legendary artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, as well as swing re-interpretations of some of his biggest hits and Spandau Ballet hits like “True,” “Gold” and “Through The Barricates,” which introduced the world to his iconic voice.
