At 88, Colette Béchet is finally ready to part with her beloved medieval castle. But the daily trek up 600 steps has become too much, and Colette wants to be closer to her family.

Colette’s connection to the donjon began in 1983, when a chance stroll through Cravant led her to the imposing 25-meter-high tower. “I found it extraordinary,” she recalls. “I bought it the next day with all my savings.” Since then, she has dedicated herself to restoring and preserving this unique piece of history.
This towering structure not only boasts an impressive height but also offers stunning views of the surrounding area, thanks to its elevated position. The 1000-square-meter garden that encircles the castle adds to its charm, making it a picturesque piece of medieval architecture.
