This was the case for a young boy in Cambodia, who spent years sleeping beside an enormous python—a relationship that, despite its initial harmony, took a tragic turn.

It all began over a decade ago when Sambath was just three months old. His father discovered a six-meter-long python weighing over 120 kilograms hiding under their bed. Instead of fearing the massive snake, the family decided to welcome it into their home, believing it was a sign of protection.

The family named the snake Chomran, and from that moment, it became a permanent presence in their lives.
