The new album material will arrive in January 2024.
After releasing the album A Light for Attracting Attention in 2022, the band The Smile, created during the pandemic in 2020, is about to release a new album and embark on a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe in March of the following year. The trio of musicians composed of Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood and Tom Skinner They will be back faster than expected and some songs can already be heard on digital platforms.
The interpreters of “Pana-Vision” and “Thin Thing” announced at the beginning of 2023 that they were working on new material, which was recorded from the beloved Abbey Road Studios and in the city of Oxford. The music also features the participation of strings from the London Contemporary Orchestra.
In June, The Smile performed liveBending Hectic”, the first single from the album, in addition to revealing that other songs such as “Read the Room” and “Under Our Pillows“are part of the tracklist. The second single to free himself was “Wall of Eyes”, which serves as the title of the album. The official video, directed by the filmmaker Paul Thomas Andersonis now available on YouTube.
