The Smashing Pumpkins back in Paris

Music news

See you on June 16, 2024 at the Accor Arena to attend the next French date of The Smashing Pumpkins!

Prepare yourself for the big return of The Smashing Pumpkins, who are preparing for a triumph at the Accor Arena on June 16, 2024! Places will be available from this Friday, December 8 at 10 a.m., via the organizer’s website. A pre-sale will take place the day before. For the moment, this is the only date announced in France as part of this upcoming tour, entitled The World is a Vampire. Rare in France in recent years, the Americans performed at the EurockĂ©ennes de Belfort in 2019, but had not played in Paris since 2014.

Speaking about the tour, frontman William Patrick Corgan said: “I grew up in a world where I needed to know that bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure existed, because that meant there was a place where people like me could come together and belong. That’s the point of The World Is A Vampire. Reestablish that sense of community. If you don’t feel like you belong, you belong here. It’s about living a common experience, respecting others, but above all having fun. A true alternative festival, where all the self-proclaimed weirdos and misfits of the world can come together and party. »

This concert will also be an opportunity for The Smashing Pumpkins to present Atum, a triple album released three times, on November 15, 2022, January 31 and May 5. We find in particular the titles “Spellbinding” and “Beguiled”. Concept-wise, this album is presented as a sequel to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) and Machina/Machine of God (2000).
