The Kinks expand their thematic collection for their 60th anniversary

After the launch of The Journey – Part 1 in March of this year, which includes hits like You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset, All Day And All Of The Night, Supersonic Rocket Ship and Dead End Street, The Kinks Has published The Journey – Part 2a double compilation album.

The Journey – Part 2, a thematic collection made by the band themselves, is available in 2CD, 2LP, Digital and HD Digital formats. In addition, the physical formats contain an extensive booklet with photographs of the band and track-by-track annotations, written by the original members. Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avorywhich share their memories from that time and weave them into the incredible story of The Kinks.

The Journey – Part 2 includes released singles, B-sides, tracks released on albums and, in particular, six new Ray Davies mixesthree of which are unreleased live recordings from London’s New Victoria Theater in 1975.

Hits included on this release include: Lola, Sunny Afternoon, 20th Century Man, Dedicated Follower Of Fashion, Till The End Of The Day, A Well Respected Man, See My Friends or the previous singles extracted as an advance Everybody’s A Star (Starmaker) and Money Talks (Remix 2023).

Formed in 1963 in Muswell Hill, north London, by brothers Ray and Dave Davies with their friend Pete Quaife, and joined by Mick Avory in early 1964, the band quickly established themselves as one of the groups that defined the golden age of rockwhose impact is still perceptible around the world today.

The statistics speak for themselves: The Kinks They have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and have been streamed more than 1 billion times on digital platforms.; They have achieved 5 Top 10 singles in the US, 9 Top 40 albums in the US, 22 Top 20 Singles/EPs in the UK and 6 Top 10 albums in the UK, with four albums certified Gold.

Among numerous honors, they have received the Ivor Novello Award for “Outstanding Service to British Music” and have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame. The legendary leader Sir Ray Davieswinner of multiple awards, is recognized as one of the greatest British composers.
