The Killers: a new song for the holidays

Music news

This song by The Killers was shared on social networks without its title being revealed.

The Killers have unveiled a new single for the holidays. The group shared the currently untitled track on their social media, captioning it: “ Santa has a brand new piece in his sack. Merry Christmas ! »

The four-minute track includes elements of ’80s synth pop and new wave, with Brandon Flowers in his usual crooning role over a driving beat. The title currently only appears on the group’s social networks and is not yet available on streaming platforms.

The Killers have recently released a new compilation called Rebel Diamonds. Their latest album, Pressure Machine, dates from 2021. Last summer, the group released another synth-rich single “Your Side of Town”. It should have been part of a new album, but it was canceled.

Halfway through recording I realized I couldn’t do thatFlowers said. It’s not the type of album… I don’t think you’ll see us making this type of music again. »

This is the crisis I find myself indid he declare. The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the rooms, but I am more fulfilled making music like Pressure Machine. While writing it, I discovered a side of myself that was strong. This is the guy I was looking for! I am also proud of Hot Fuss that you can be happy about something you did at 20, but I’m not 20. So I’m thinking about the next stage of my life. »

The Killers will go on tour to defend Rebel Diamonds next summer. 2024 also corresponds to the 20th anniversary of the release of their first album, Hot Fuss. So far, only the UK and Ireland shows have been announced.
