The trailer for Willie Nelson & Familythe four-part documentary from directors Thom Zimny and Oren Moverman, offers a glimpse into the colorful life of the Red Headed Stranger.
The clip features some of the rare archival footage that forms the heart of the film, including footage of Nelson playing his Trigger guitar, walking around with other musicians, and even falling into an inflatable pool backstage at a festival. There is also extensive footage of Nelson on stage with his Family Band, including his sister Bobbie Nelson, who died in 2022.
In addition to Nelson’s interviews, many of the artists he performed with and influenced appear on screen. The trailer opens with Kenny Chesney saying: “ Willie wrote his truth, but in an incredible way, he wrote mine “. Dolly Parton, Brenda Lee, Bill Anderson, Don Was, Bobby Bare, Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne and Jeannie Seely also appear.
