The Darkness: details of the reissue of Permission to land

Music news

The Darkness’ now cult first album will be the subject of an anniversary edition to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release.

20 years is worth celebrating! British glam rock band Darkness understood this well and intends to mark the occasion to celebrate the anniversary of his first album. Released on July 7, 2003, Permission To Land, it has since surpassed one million copies sold in the United Kingdom alone. It includes the unforgettable hit “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”, without forgetting the classics “Get Your Hands Off My Woman” or “Growing On Me”.

To celebrate this anniversary, the group of Hawkins brothers is pulling out all the stops with a reissue filled to the brim with bonuses of all kinds. See you on October 6 for its release. It will be titled Permission To Land…Again.

We find on four discs the original album, rare B-sides, unpublished demos, not forgetting recordings of historic concerts. We thus find the 2003 lives of the Astoria (London) and Knebworth as opening act for Robbie Williams, without forgetting the performance at the Wembley Arena in 2004. A bonus DVD also includes images of these concerts as well as the recorded clips at that time. There is also a documentary entitled “History Of The Darkness”. The latter includes various behind-the-scenes sequences from this period.
