In the meantime, a look back at their visit to Amsterdam on June 10, 2022:

In Amsterdam there is God, there are ladies… and the Beatles on stage – well almost: The Analogues are back, and the famous Batavian tribute band is playing here at home before its tour (in September in France). It goes without saying that local cannabinoid scents are not the only ones responsible for the very successful sound illusion they offer.

You have the impression of entering one of the city’s museums to admire masterpieces, currently audio copies reproduced to perfection, down to the last detail. Diehards, the Analogues, acting with the religiosity of passionate classical musicians, found on eBay the instruments used by the Fab Four to record the Abbey Road album (Rickenbacker, Vox amps, vocal microphones, and a real anvil for Maxwell’s Silver Hammer), which is the subject of a rather static first part.

They even photographed the wooden flooring of the legendary London studio reproduced on their floor mat, “for the mind”! It is in the second part, much more punchy, that the quintet flanked by brass, strings and a whole band (16 musicians all the same) gives the full measure of its rock energy. Excerpts from Sgt. Pepper give way to a frenzied “Helter Skelter”, then to a “While my guitar gently weeps” including Clapton’s solo, reproduced note for note, at great speed.

The audience of nostalgic boomers has tears in their eyes, they want more. It’s only an illusion of course, but finding themselves for one evening face to face with their idols vanished in space-time acts like a fantasy. However, it is during the encore that the real surprise comes, with the song “Good Foot”. Does the title mean nothing to you? Normal: prevented from playing live by two years of Covid, the Analogues have (finally) recorded an album of original songs… which sound furiously Beatles! They have played and digested them so much that they now seem capable of extending their work. The album comes out at the start of the school year, and the result is simply stunning.
