Jack Black has said that Tenacious D's split is temporary and that the band will return, despite recently canceling dates.

In another statement, Jack Black said he had been ” caught off guard ” and that he does not “would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.” He also announced that Tenacious D canceled his tour and that ” all his future creative projects are on hold.”
In his interview with Variety, Jack Black clarified the situation regarding his relationship with Kyle Gass: “Yes, we are friends, that hasn't changed. This kind of thing takes time sometimes… and we'll come back when the time comes.”
