The rising pop star talks about the behind-the-scenes story of her hit “Greedy” for WECB. Tate McRae also tells us everything about his new opus “Think Later”, unveiled this December 8, his friendship with Olivia Rodrigo and his bond with his French fans. An interview with Tom Hannane.

She is the most listened to artist on TikTok this year. With “Greedy”, Tate McRae triumphs and imposes his style throughout the world. At only 20 years old, the young Canadian releases, on December 8, 2023, the second album of her career, “Think Later”.

An opus on which the dancer and singer appears more confident than ever. “I honestly think going from the age of 17 to 20 was a huge step for me. I worked on myself a lot, I thought a lot and I found a way to regain confidence in myself.», Reveals Tate McRae at the microphone of WECB.

Faced with success, the one who was born in Canada, in the city of Calgary, had to completely change her life in a very short time. An experience that impacted his new musical creations. “By the time I moved to Los Angeles, I was lost. I didn’t know who I was. Moving out at 17 is very early. So I think last year was very important for me. Going into the studio, my approach to writing was completely different.», reveals the young artist.

Tate McRae: collaboration with Olivia Rodrigo soon?

To celebrate the release of her new album “Think Later”, Tate McRae has announced a world tour which will pass through France. The one who already met her French admirers last year is eager to meet her audience again, on May 17, at the Zénith in Paris. “I obviously love Paris because it’s beautiful and I love the culture here. The fans were loud and fun. They were very sincere too.“, recalls Tate McRae.

During this world tour, many hope to see the Canadian accompanied by her BFF Olivia Rodrigo. The two singers see each other often and support each other in their respective careers. Can we imagine seeing them sing together one day? “It would be really cool to do a song with Olivia.”, explains Tate McRae. “We’re used to talking about normal things and hanging out together, but why not one day.»
