SZA announces ‘LANA’, the deluxe version of her album ‘SOS’

Music news

Good news for SZA fans! The American rapper has announced that she is going to release a new version of her album S.O.S.. Through her social networks and with six different covers, the singer has communicated the news. And we have to admit that the photos are truly amazing.

On December 9, 2022, SZA He launched S.O.S. on all platforms. He did it five years after publishing his first studio album, CTRL, and managed to make both the public and critics fall in love with it. The rapper herself, who has seen how her song Kill Bill played at the top of the Billboard chart for several weeks in 2023, has made a small assessment of how important this work has been for her:

“Happy first anniversary to an album that is changing my life. I haven’t processed everything that’s happened this year because it’s still happening, it’s far beyond anything I’ve dreamed of. I never imagined that I would achieve even a small part of all the praise that has come (…) Thank you GOD and my incredible TEAM and my FAMILY. To my ancestors. Thank you to every person who streamed this album, came to a show, played it in the car, and connected with any part of me. To all those who continue to believe in me. I love you”.

SOS has become one of the most important albums of 2023. Although it came out at the end of 2022, SZA’s album has marked the pop music of 2023. In fact, the rapper is competing in the main categories of the next edition of the Grammy: from best song and recording for Kill Bill, to best album.

The deluxe version of S.O.S.

To celebrate one year of SOS, SZA wanted to announce a new version of this work. This is LANA, a work that will add new songs to the 23 songs already known by SOS. The curious thing about this project is that it comes with six very different covers. We see the rapper as a girl from the woods, in the middle of a farm with cows or sitting like a good girl in a chair.

The truth is that a few months ago, SZA spoke with Billboard about this new version: “After releasing the deluxe edition, I hope to be able to accept that this episode is over.”. “I’m looking forward to feeling proud of myself, not just laughing and saying yes to recognition, but feeling it internally and knowing that I’m good enough.”
