SUUNS dazzles with their new single, “Overture”

Music news

A piece that defies expectations and plays with sound contrasts.

The Canadian trio SUUNSreturns to the charge with “Overture”, the third and final single before the release of her album The Breakswhich will be available on September 6 under the labels Joyful Noise Recordings and Secret City RecordsThis track unfolds like a corrupted classic anthem, one of the most striking moments on the album.

From the beginning, “Overture” hooks with a rhythm that is reminiscent of a classic but twisted and dark anthem. The synthesizers and the loops They intertwine to form a sound base that is both ethereal and forceful.

The voice, often in an almost whispering tone, adds a layer of mystery and depth, while influences from bands like The Fall and the percussive style of Travis Barker are present in the structure and energy of the song.

In addition to presenting us the latest single, The band shares a stylized video. This work is a fascinating visual journey that fits perfectly with the dark and enveloping tone of the song; with a minimalist style, the video plays with dramatic lights and visual effects to create a mysterious and almost surreal atmosphere.

There is no clear story, but rather a series of images that evoke sensations. There are silhouettes of human figures, shadows moving and lights flickering, all in an abstract and slightly disturbing space. Dark colours, mainly blues and blacks, dominate the scene, with occasional flashes of light adding a touch of mystery.

As a preview of The Breaksdelves into a state of limbo, exploring more than ever its pop inclinations but with bold sonic experimentation. The trio not only flirts with loops and synthesizers, but also integrates samples and MIDI instruments, creating a jam session with rhythms trip hop and downtempo.

Remember that SUUNS will be part of the festival Hypnosis 2024Here we share the details with you.
