Steve Albini now has his own street in Chicago

The city pays tribute to the producer with the Steve Albini Way.

Last Monday, November 25, Chicago paid tribute to Steve Albini renaming a street in his honor. The new “Steve Albini Way”is located on the corner of Belmont Ave and Rockwell St, Chicago, in the USA, is located near his iconic studio Electrical Audioa key venue for independent music creation.

at the ceremony Kim Dealformer member of Pixies He gave a short speech highlighting the unique vision of Albini who passed away in May of this year.

After the ceremony, Electrical Audio a private meeting was held where he performed The Electrical Adjacentsan improvised band with friends like Jeff Tweedy (wilco) and Fred Armisen .

Let us remember that Albiniwho died in May of this year, was a key producer on albums such as In Utero of Nirvana and Pink Surfer of Pixies. He also led projects such as Big Black of Atomizer and defended independence in the music industry.

This tribute not only celebrates his impact on indie rock, but immortalizes his legacy as a pillar of musical creativity in Chicago.
