Strong emotion at the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys. The new promo of the “Star Academy” discovered a new song by Grégory Lemarchal, written a month before his death. This piece entitled “Et si tu sens” is about to be recorded and performed during the next prime, in tribute to the artist who left too soon.

He left his mark on the “Star Academy” in the 2000s and continues to touch hearts with his words. Grégory Lemarchal, who died in 2007 from cystic fibrosis, is in the spotlight this week on TF1. The students of the class of 2024 are, in fact, preparing to record a new piece by the late singer.

It was Mosimann, former winner of the show, and Lucie Bernardoni, the coach, who announced the news to the candidates last Saturday. They were able to listen to this song called “Et si tu sens”. The opportunity to learn more about the moving circumstances of the creation of this title.

While he was waiting for a lung transplant in hospital in March 2007, Grégory Lemarchal wrote this hopeful text. “All the words resonated within him”revealed her great friend at the time, Lucie. Quentin Mosimann, for his part, explained: “I won't hide from you that it's also a lot of emotion for us because we did it with his parents, Pierre and Laurence, with the family.“. The piece takes on, in fact, a very special meaning since the young singer died a month after writing it, without being able to record it in the studio.

When will “And If You Smell” be released?

Impossible for the students to hold back their tears when listening to the words of the chorus of “Et si tu sens”: “And if you feel that the day is coming, that you can relive tomorrow / You will be the only star, to see a horizon for the future coming / And if you feel that the day is coming to repair you, it is certain / You will be the only star, to offer you another story for the future”.

The title sung by the students of the Château de Dammarie-les-Lys will be available on the yearbook album, which is scheduled for release on December 6. The profits from the single will be donated to the Grégory Lemarchal association.
