Spotify has removed all fake streaming from the artists' profiles

Spotify is the leading music streaming service in the world and perfectly embodies all the best and worst things of today's music industry. Now Spotify is committed to removing fake streaming and bots from the platform. In fact, many artists have seen their streaming number accumulated mainly in the last three months, from February to today.

Obviously, once the news of this Spotify move, the public began to wonder what the artists involved were and to implement several theories, including the name of Kendrick Lamar.

The reason? In his legal cause against Umg, Drake accused Major of falsifying Kandrick Lamar's Not Like Us numbers using Bot.

Obviously it is not known whether these accusations are founded or not, but many believe that this Spotify move is connected with what happened between Drake and Lamar.

Regarding the choice to fight the bots on the platform, Spotify said “Spotify's efforts to detect and prevent artificial streaming are longtime and independent of the genre. Spotify invests a lot in automated revisions and manuals to prevent, detect and mitigate the impact of artificial stream on our platform. When we identify the manipulation of streaming, we adopt measures that include the removal of streaming numbers and the withholding tax.”
