The documentary ” The Greatest Night in Pop » traces the creative journey of “ We Are the World » and will be released this month.

A new documentary, The Greatest Night in Poplooks at the story of the 1985 charitable success, “ We Are the World “. The film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19 and will arrive on Netflix shortly thereafter on January 29.

Directed by Bao Nguyen, The Greatest Night in Pop will present numerous new images and will retrace the history of “ We Are the World ”, from the planning stages to the recording session. The film will provide insight into the writing sessions of Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, as well as all the work that went into getting 46 of the world’s biggest stars into the same studio on the same day to record the track. (Producer Quincy Jones posted a sign on the studio door: “ Leave your egos at the door “).
