New live date in Rome for Simple Minds’ European tour. The legendary Scottish band will also be featured on Thursday 27 June 2024 at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica Cavea in Rome in addition to the previously announced date of 28 June.

The Global Tour 2024, their biggest tour since 1985, includes four other Italian dates already announced. The first arrival in 2024 will be the already sold-out event on 20 April 2024 at the Forum in Milan, to then continue in the summer on 30 June at the Rotonda Via Paolo Pinto in Bari (Locus Festival), on 1 July in Piazza Garibaldi in Senigallia and July 4th in Piazza Sordello in Mantua (Mantua Summer Festival).

Formed in the 1970s and named after a lyric – “so simple minded” – in David Bowie’s famous 1972 single The Jean Genie, Simple Minds have become one of the most successful groups to come out of the UK, selling over 60 million albums. records worldwide, with number one singles on both sides of the Atlantic and number one albums worldwide, including five number one albums in the UK: Sparkle In The Rain (1984), Once Upon A Time (1985) and Street Fighting Years, as well as the concert recording Live In The City Of Light (1987) and the Glittering Prize81/92 compilation.

Over the past 10 years Simple Minds have rekindled the magic that made them a vital artistic force, found themselves being referenced by younger artists and playing to tens of thousands of people every year, all over the world. The request to see the band perform well-known hits, including “Promised You a Miracle”, “Glittering Prize”, “Someone Somewhere in Summertime”, “Waterfront”, “Alive and Kicking”, “Sanctify Yourself” and “Don’ t You Forget About Me,” has grown year after year, with the band consistently acclaimed as one of the best live groups of its generation. Referring to their 2022 concert at Wembley Arena, The Times newspaper said: “back in style and in great shape”. They have been honored with the Q Awards Lifetime Achievement and have received universal critical acclaim for their recent albums. 2015’s Big Music was defined by MOJO magazine as “their best album of the last 30 years”, while 2018’s Walk Between Worlds saw Simple Minds engaged in their biggest US tour to date and, together with Direction Of The Heart of 2022, reached number 4 in the UK charts and the top 10 in several territories.
