Shakira publishes a preview of ‘Nassau’, the afrobeat that is part of ‘Women No Longer Cry’

Music news

just a couple of weeks ago Shakira surprised with the news that ‘Women don’t cry anymore’, his first album in the last seven years would arrive this March 22, but just a few days ago he dared to publish the complete list of songs that make it up. We already know many of them, but there are others that have us very intrigued to know what they talk about and how they sound.

Sooner than we expected we have come across ‘Nassau’, one of the unreleased songs that it seemed like we wouldn’t hear until the day the full album came out. To everyone’s surprise, Shakira has decided to calm her anxieties a little by giving us a small preview so we can delve a little into the artist’s mind and discover some of the feelings that she has left captured in her music.

This is how ‘Nassau’ sounds, Shakira’s new loving song

“I had promised that I would never love again. You appeared to heal the wounds that that one left. I had that closed, with keys and a padlock, but what do I do? I like you too much”, says the only verse that Shakira has let us hear from ‘Nassau’, the Afrobeat that we will get tired of singing and dancing to this spring in our trusted nightclubs. If you look at the lyrics, what he tells us is quite interesting, right?

It seems that the artist has fallen in love again and she has done so with someone who has made her forget the damage that was done to her and when she least expected it. It is inevitable to form theories about the person the singer is addressing. Could it be from one of the dates she has had publicly after separating from Piqué?

Thanks to these confessions, we can imagine some of the stories that the Colombian has gone through before publishing ‘Women no longer cry’: “As I wrote each song, I rebuilt myself. As I sang them, my tears became diamonds and my vulnerability became resilience.”said Shakira about the creation process of this project.
