Selena Gomez in a musical biopic! The singer has been announced in the casting of the feature film about the life and career of Linda Ronstadt. The information was confirmed by “Variety” on January 10, 2024. Selena Gomez, in person, revealed in an Instagram Story, a photo from the memoirs published in 2013 by the 70s star, entitled “Simple Dreams”.

The “Lose You to Love Me” singer will play Linda Ronstadt, the American legend who managed to mix many genres: country, rock and Latin music. The singer released two hit albums in the 70s, “Heart Like a Wheel” and “Simple Dreams.” Throughout her career Linda Ronstadt has won eleven Grammy Awards. She has also been honored by the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy. In 2011, the artist announced her retirement, later revealing that she could no longer sing due to her progressive supranuclear palsy.

Linda Ronstadt and Selena Gomez both have Mexican origins. The two artists look very similar physically.

Among the star’s best-known hits from the 70s, we find “Don’t Know Much”, “You’re No Good”, and “It’s So Easy”.
