Daniel Ducharme, a 31-year-old man, lost his life in a crash on a rural road in Hatfield. Investigators believe he was either completely or partially ejected from his vehicle before being dragged away by a bear.
The discovery was made after a passing motorist noticed a wrecked car in the woods along the road and alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, police found the heavily damaged vehicle and Ducharme’s lifeless body outside the car. Although the bear had left the scene before emergency services arrived, evidence suggested that the animal had interacted with the victim.
