Eight albums and five singles will enter Grammy Hall of Fame this year, including ” Supernatural »De Santana and works by Cat Stevens and Emmylou Harris.

This year, Recording Academy will bring eight albums and five singles to the Grammy Hall of Fame. Among these albums are Reasonable Doubt of Jay-Z, Supernatural from Santana, Wrecking Ball from Emmylou Harris and Tea for the tillerman from Cat Stevens.

The Grammy Hall of Fame will also enthron #1 record Big Star, JD Crowe & The New Southfrom the eponymous group, Never Too Much of Luther Vandross and Zombie From Fela Kuti & Africa 70. Among the singles, we find ” Color Him Father “By Linda Martell,” Conggosa “From Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine,” How I Got Over “By Clara Ward,” Knock on Wood “By Eddie Floyd and” Last Kind Words Blues From Geeshie Wiley.

The Grammy Hall of Fame was created by the administrators of Recording Academy in 1973. It currently has 1,165 inducted recordings, including the 13 new titles. To be eligible, works must present qualitative or historical importance and be at least 25 years old. They are selected each year by a special committee of professionals from all branches of registration arts, with final ratification by the National Recording Academy Board of Directors.

The winners will be celebrated during the Grammy Hall of Fame gala organized by the Grammy Museum and the Recording Academy on May 16 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The gala will also pay tribute to the REPUBLIC Records label, honored this year, with artists who will be announced on a later date.
