Q&A

How do you feel in participating in this festival?

I am really happy to be part of it. Until a few years ago I would never have thought of participating, also because I sang mainly in English. Then I started getting closer to the Italian language, which I obviously feel mine, living in Italy. It was a path of sound and cultural exploration that led me to want to share my music, which however maintains international references and influences from my listening as always.

Your music has many international influences. How can you combine these different worlds?

I try to bring a small tribute to those worlds in my music that influenced me. I like to mix sounds and suggestions that come from my ratings and the experiences experienced in different contexts. It is a way to tell my story, made of travel and cultural contaminations, without forgetting my Italian roots.

In your texts I often explore personal and family themes. What inspired you in this sense?

I have always tried to face my fears and explore the emotional complexity of my family. I come from a particular family situation, with two different fathers and very different contexts. This taught me to face life with open -minded life. I was lucky enough to have an extraordinary mother and other very strong female female figures, such as aunts and grandmothers, who taught me so much and transmitted to me a great resilience.

How do you live the creative process?

For me music is a game, a territory of experimentation. When I write or compose, I like to draw on all my influences and let myself be transported by the inspiration of the moment. This freedom allows me to tell my emotions authenticly and sincerely.

You have chosen a very particular song for this festival. What does it represent for you?

I chose this song because it is a love song, but also because it represents a complex period of my life. I wanted to tell the emotions I felt and share this experience with the public. I believe that music can really combine people and make them feel understood.
