Rihanna: the singer continues to break records in 2023

Music news

Rihanna generated stratospheric listenings in the year 2023. Her audience score on download platforms broke records.

Fans are wondering if they should still expect new music from Rihanna. The Barbadian, now mother of two children, has not released anything since “Lift Me Up” in 2022, a hit which is part of the soundtrack to the film “Black Panther”.

Her admirers also remember her incredible performance during the Super Bowl halftime at the beginning of 2023. The public discovered with great joy the star’s pregnancy, who had not planned to announce the happy event that evening.

Her two successive pregnancies have obviously kept the singer away from the recording studios, even if the interpreter of “Diamonds” does not want to end her career. The singer could even appear on a Nicki Minaj song!

However, this lack of novelty did not disgust its audience, quite the contrary. Rihanna signed in 2023 the second highest stream score in a year for a woman. With 10 billion streams on platforms, the singer is certainly far from the 26 billion recorded by Taylor Swift, but is still making history.

This record is all the more incredible since Riri hasn’t released an album in eight years! All that remains to be done for the singer’s (very) many admirers is that she finally decides to return to the studios!
