Review: tooth – “Santa Tenderness”

Reviews

Dente returns with “Saint Tenderness” and does it in the perfect moment: when the Italian songwriter seems to have found his lifeblood.

His new album is a sound embrace, a nostalgic caress that envelops the listener with the delicacy of those who know how to tell love, loss and memory with a disarming sincerity.

“Saint Tenderness” is an emotional journey in which every note seems suspended between reality and the dream. The arrangements, rich in arches, winds, guitars and keyboards, build a warm and enveloping sound landscape, while the words of tooth slip light, but never superficial. It is a record that speaks of indelible feelings, of memories that cling to the heart and do not let it go, of a love that changes shape but never vanishes.

Battistian influences are felt and perceived: Without me recalls the shades of Jealous dear, While Me annegasti It has the evocative flavor of the Battisti of the white period.

But “holy tenderness” is above all tooth in its purest essence: light without being frivolous, melancholy without being gloomy. It is a record that seems made of stolen moments, of faded photographs that suddenly light up, of those fragments of life that resurface when you least expect it.

Dente tells the album as an expressive urgency, a profound need to put emotions in music that could no longer remain silent: «A discourse written almost all in one breath, in a few days. These songs speak of absence, loss and research, of sleepless nights, present love and future dreams. I have always believed in the therapeutic power of the songs and today, with this album, I believe it even more ».

“Saint Tenderness” is a refuge for those who feel suspended between the past and the present, for those looking for answers in the melodies and find comfort in words. It is an album that insinuates itself under the skin, that speaks to those who know how to listen with the heart before even with the ears. And, without a doubt, it is the confirmation that tooth is one of the most authentic and precious voices of our time.
