An astronaut lost on a nervous planet dotted with sunflowers. This is the image processed by AI of the cover of “Songs For A Nervous Planet”, the new Tears For Fears album.
Hybrid work, composed of four unreleased songs and a collection of their historical songs in a live version, captured in the scenic setting of the FirstBank Amphitheater of Graystone Quarry in Franklin, Tennessee, during a stop on the 'Tipping Point Tour Part 2', which is a meditative journey between nostalgia, connections and fragmented memories.
A 22-track, nearly two-hour long journey of the essence of Tears that showcases the brilliance of the band's live performances.
As for the four unreleased tracks, it stands out Astronaut which seems to have come out of “Songs From The Big Chair” complete with a surprising falsetto from Roland and The Girl That I Call Home, where Tears For Fears go beyond the classic themes of nostalgia and introspection, tackling psychological distress and the need for intimacy in an increasingly fragmented and alienating world. The search for stability, that intimate and spiritual “home” represented by his wife Emily, a place of the soul where time, suspended, seems to recognize and embrace our most authentic being.
“Songs For A Nervous Planet” at the end appears as a line that delimits their career up to this point (this is in fact their first live album).
A gift embellished with new material that gives hope for new records and a reborn desire to make music together again.
