Review: NIGHT SKINNY – “Containers”

Reviews

“Containers”, Night Skinny's new album, is a sort of litmus test, a crash-test to understand if producers' container discs can still work.

Luca Pace from Termoli, aka Night Skinny, knows the market perfectly and knows very well that this risk exists.
With “Mattoni” and “Botox”, Night had raised the bar of the genre, and the records became true masterpieces.

The mechanism of “Containers” is the one already tested: free bars and productions that stand out for the skilful use of samples, Skinny's stylistic signature, selected and manipulated with great skill, the result of years of research. The whole thing is a celebration of rap culture.

To close the circle, Night added the icing on the cake: heterogeneous voices and personalities, from the heavyweights of the scene to new revelations (to which the producer has always been particularly attentive), where the glue between the old and new generations is still once the sound of Night Skinny.

Precisely the attention to the new generations is perhaps the distinctive element of this album. A flaw is the presence of many men and few women, only two: Madame and Anise. With “Botox” the female share was higher! A missed opportunity, perhaps, to shake up the machismo of the sector and give freshness and innovation to the movement.

The list of feats is stellar: Geolier, Ernia, Luchè, Lazza, Nerissima Serpe, Noyz Narcos, Madame, Tony Effe, Tedua, Bresh, Rkomi, Guè, Rasty Kilo, Fabri Fibra, Emis Killa, Tony Boy, Kid Yugi, Simba La Rue, Paky, Papa V, Shiva, Anice, Artie 5ive, Capo Plaza and Jake La Furia. That is, the best!

We will see the result of this experiment shortly. We will understand if the market for these products is now saturated (like perhaps that of live shows crowded with feats) or if there is still room for reunions of consolidated and rising stars.

For the moment, let's enjoy it as it is once again a super mine!
