Review: Jake La Furia – “Fame”

Reviews

Francesco Vigorelli, aka Jake La Furia, is about to turn off 46 candles. A number that on paper should bring wisdom, but that actually still leaves that “hunger” of life, street, microphone.

Jake with “Fame” wanted to update the subsidiary of the young rapper. First of all he raised the “retirement” age and above all rewritten some basic rules for what is the Italian street of the Rap Game.

To do this, he entrusted himself to the surgical beat of Night Skinny and a team of trusted companions of arms: Guè and Rkomi above all, but also Rose Villain, Artie 5ive, Kid Yugi, very black snake, hernia, Noyz Narcos, Tony Boy, Pope V, Anise, Bresh and Alborosie. A roster that represents the best of current rap generations, in a continuous witness passage between old and new school.

In terms of flow, “hunger” is not just a reference to the origins, to the hard and pure rap gangsta. It is a declaration of intent, a manifesto without frills that tells the way for what it is: raw, brutal, without compromise. Jake has never stopped spitting rough bars and without filters, and here he does it with an even more ferocious hunger.

64 no brand It is a statement of identity, full of references and sharp interlocking. Money on My Mind with Rose Villain and Artie 5ive points straight to the head, while Let's go to the sea With Anice he plays with a contrast of images between relaxation and urban subtext. The last day of the world It is a dip in the roots, with Guè and Rkomi who move on a historical sample like Rhythm is a dancer of Snap! and revive the 90s.

But inside “hunger” there is also lived life, Milan Bloody Money With Ernia he paints the city for what it is, between lights and shadows. Generation With Bresh it compares different visions of the present, while Viagra with Kid Yugi e Teaspoon With Nerissimo Serpe are the perfect Clash between street experiences and new faces of the scene. Coco 24 sees the old school made by Jake and Noyz to confront the new one who emerges interpreted by Tony Boy and Pope V, while Rain dance With Alborosie the circle closes with a dark rite that reflects the malaise and contradictions of this company.

“Hunger” is not just a record: it is a check point, a stance, a demonstration of strength.
Jake La Furia does not ask for permission. Enter, take the microphone and remind everyone who still has the control of the game.
