Review: Franco126 – “Future possible”

Reviews

Four years after his latest solo project, Franco126 returns with “Future Possible”, an album that slides the nuances of love and fate with the sensitivity and lyrical acumen that have always distinguished his writing.

The disc marks a stylistic evolution capable of reconciling the two souls of the Roman artist: the intimate and songwriting one of “single room” and “multiplex”, and the one closest to the urban sounds, explored with the collective Lovegang126 in “Cristi e Diavoli”.

The tracklist moves between different registers, from waltz to trap, from nostalgic ballads to drier and direct sound constructions, with a common thread that unfolds between realism and imagination.

The references and sound adhesions are also several. From the stereophonics of Maybe Tomorrow to the echoes to the Phoenix in Vampire.

The production, entrusted to Golden Years with the contribution of WISM in some episodes, wears the songs of a refined balance, in which acoustic tools and electronic rugs intertwine seamlessly.

An element of novelty compared to previous works is the presence of several guests, which enrich the sound story without distorting the identity of the album. Coez and Ketama126 represent the link with the Roman scene, while Giorgio then and lightning add melodic and autorative shades, and the rapper Ele to give an unprecedented vibration to the project.

The beating heart of “possible future” however remains the poetic writing process of Franco126, capable of grasping the melancholy beauty of everyday life and transforming it into evocative images, suspended between dream and reality.

The result is a cohesive, fresh and multifaceted album, in which each song fits like a card of a larger mosaic: a reflection on what has been and on everything that, perhaps, could still be.
