Review: cmqmartina – “Brianzola Issues”

Reviews

Cmqmartina does not just make us dance. With “Brianzola Issues”, it transforms the dancefloor into a place of emotional purification, a sound universe in which synths pulsate like a restless heart and the beat become a liberating mantra.

The album is a journey that blends melancholy and frenzy, introspection and physical abandonment.

Already anticipated Do you really love me?, Kids Never Sleep, Hallucination and Vinted, The album confirms cmqmartina as one of the protagonists of Italian Nu-Dance, a sound architect capable of building worlds suspended between the need for escape and the raw reality.

His Brianza is a static, almost claustrophobic earth, and precisely from this tension the push to transform the discomfort in motion, nostalgia in bass that shakes.

The production, edited by Ceri, Okgiorgio, Simone Bertolotti, extreme and SPX, is a refined electronic mosaic: grooves aciduli, Echi hyperpop, hypnotic synthesizers and a close rhythm that recalls the most visceral clubbing. The dance here is not only aesthetic, but need.

The disc opens with You just want a hit, song in which the singer unmasks the music industry with a pungent metaphor: the desire to be listened to, in a world that consumes and forgets and ends with acoustics Plasticut in which cmqmartina leaves the electronics and travels only with guitar and voice showing a possible evolution of its sound path.

“Brianzola Issues” is a sound oxymoron: warm and sharp, evocative and raw, bewitching and stinging. A disc that overwhelms and that, in its power as a dancefloor, knows how to make a refuge for those who dance with their own shadows.
