Open Your Heart is the second single and first official unreleased song by Raffaella Zago (out Friday 1 December).
The song, released by Groovin Recordings, comes after the acclaim received by the artist born in 1998 for his nu-soul reinterpretation of “Money Trees”, a song by the most praised rapper of the last decade, Kendrick Lamar.
“Open Your Heart” is my story – says Raffaella – I wrote it when my boyfriend and I broke up.
It talks about my suffering, his suffering and what it was like after the breakup of a beautiful love relationship that ended after six years.
It is the first song I wrote seriously, because the great suffering I felt led me to feel the need to write and tell what I experienced but also to be able to relive this great feeling, even if not happy, every time I sing it and I listen to it.”
“Open Your Heart” is a sentimental song in which the versatility of the artist’s voice stands out first and foremost, reiterating his nu-soul attitude and, at the same time, demonstrating a certain pop elegance. Raffaella Zago is the author and composer of her songs and worked on the musical production of “Open Your Heart” with Max Greco and a band of musicians who support her both in the studio and on live dates.
ABOUT RAFFAELLA ZAGO
Raffaella Zagoborn in Padua in 1998, began studying piano at the age of eight and then continued this path at music high school as a classical pianist and with the study of opera singing.
At the age of 20 he attended the CPM in Milan, obtaining a three-year degree in pop-rock singing with a thesis entitled “Black music from the 90s to today”.
She is an author and composer, she collaborates with Max Greco, musical co-producer of her songs, and with a band of musicians who support her both in the studio and on live dates.
