Pretenders: two French dates in October

Music news

Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders will meet you on October 2 in Lyon and on October 3 in Paris, to present the album Relentless.

After two notable dates at La Maroquinerie in September 2023, Pretenders are preparing their return to France this year. So, the group led by Chrissie Hynde will meet you on October 2 at the Transbordeur (Lyon) and the next day at La Salle Pleyel (Paris), to play “new songs and classics”. Places are available via the organizer’s website.

This tour allows the Anglo-American group to once again present on stage its latest album, Relentless. “ I like to see the different meanings and origins of a wordsaid the singer about the album’s title. And I liked the definition: ‘showing no drop in intensity’. So when it came to choosing an album title, it seemed appropriate. You know…keep doing it. I think everyone in a band is constantly wondering if they should continue. At the beginning, it’s a quest for youth and ultimately, you wonder why you’re doing this. This is the life of the artist. We never retire. »

On this record, Chrissie Hynde and Walborne (guitar) worked with producer Dave Wrench and a group they called The Pretenders Collective. We find Kris Sonne (drums), Chris Hill (double bass), Dave Page (bass) and Carwyn Ellis (keyboards and guitars). Furthermore, on the final title “ I Think About You Daily “, we find in particular a participation Jonny Greenwood, guitarist of Radiohead and The Smile. The latter composed the score for the string ensemble present on this piece. We also find the single “Let The Sun Come In”.
