PREMIERE: I Can Fly premieres the video for “Periferia”

Music news

A deep tone of a constant reverberating bass is the rhythm that lurks and coordinates the vibration of “Periferia”, a post punk piece that emanates from the margins of the Mexican music scene.

Daily life in the metropolitan area of Mexico City is marked by diversity and multiplicity, yet a common experience coordinates this varied soundscape. Through his new single “Periphery”the Ecatepense group, I Can Fly, shares an experience of an environment that appears to be monotonous and at the same time is constantly mobile; a coming and going that despite its repetition leaves spaces for the possibility of making the sensitive emerge.

“Periphery”is the declaration of an urban environment marked by post punk. I Can Fly is a band that redefines the daily life of the periphery through its musical proposal, beginning its reappropriation of space in 2015. An emotional dialogue occurs between the synthesizer chords that build an atmosphere of melancholy and the energy of the guitar strings that point to other possible worlds. At the forefront of this discussion a deep voice stands out and speaks to us about tolerance, work, forgetfulness, loneliness; a sinister oscillation that aims to bring us closer to hope or at least nostalgia for a non-existent future.

‘Periphery’ It is the reflection of what it means to live in the metropolitan area of Mexico City, the routine of the people who live in Ecatepec, and surrounding states. It talks about having to travel great distances to meet a standard that we have been told is success,” comments I Can Fly in a press release.

To complete the nostalgic image that “Periphery” evokes us, I Can Flyshares the premiere of the music video exclusively for Indie Rocks!.
