Pharrell Williams is back with a new title, and it’s heavy

Music news

Pharrell Williams unveiled, Friday December 8, the video clip for a new song: “Airplane Tickets” in collaboration with Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro.

On February 14, 2023, Pharell Williams was appointed artistic director in charge of the men’s collections of the “Louis Vuitton” brand. A prestigious position that allows the “Get Lucky” singer to express his creativity and flourish in the world of fashion, which he is particularly fond of. However, in order to concentrate on his creations, the artist had to slow down his musical production.

A retirement which did not last forever, since the ex-musician and producer unveiled this Friday, December 8, a brand new clip: “Airplane Tickets”. Unfortunately, Virgil Abloh’s replacement is only producing on the track, and does not put his voice on it. But no worries, he knew how to surround himself very well!

The man with many hats called on rapper Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro to embody this composition. The synergy between the three men is felt from the first seconds of the title, and just as immediately confirms the artistic genius of Mr. Williams.

The clip directed by Belgian Maxime Quoilin shows behind the streets of Hong Kong, its neon lights and its reflections for a visually extraordinary rendering. We see the three stars dancing and having fun, in the latest pieces from the “LV” collection of course.

Between luxury and urbanity, Pharell Williams has made a strong comeback, which amazed the happy spectators of his brand’s fashion show, who had the chance to see the clip in preview at the end of the evening. Thus, the director-producer-rapper-stylist is winning for the moment the challenge of combining his passions, and he is doing it very well!
