Folk rock artist Peter Deaves prepares the release of his next album with the track “Gasoline”. Filmed in the Paris region and directed by Leonard Porche, the clip is available via the player below:
Gasoline is therefore extracted from Ceol Agus GraPeter Deaves’ debut album. “With Etienne de Nanteuil (producer), we did not want this record to belong to a niche”explains the artist. “This title means “Music and Love” in Gaelic. Of course it’s not an Irish ballad album, but I chose it because it embodies the essence of my values and my passion for writing, performing and music in all its forms . »
In this record, the British artist by birth and French by adoption summons numerous influences, whether Irish with the Pogues, Glen Hansard, or The Dubliners, British with Radiohead, or even American with Johnny Cash or Beck.
Although he now lives in the Paris region, he has not forgotten his years spent in the United States which directly inspired this record: “I like the worldview of country-folk artists, as well as the simplicity of the approach to their compositions: one man, one guitar and simple, accessible poetry. They were also able to choose and hit the right word, chord or note at the right time. When I compose, I always know where I want to go. For example, when I write a song, I already know that I am going to sing a specific note in the third phrase of the chorus, because the feeling of the song corresponds to the timbre of this note placed on these chords. »
