Pablopablo, son of Jorge Drexler, joins Guitarricadelafuente for ‘Sidekick’

Music news

Paul Drexler calling itself pablopablo if we talk about his musical project. And it is not because he denies being the son of Jorge Drexler but because he doesn’t want his last name to be a distraction and the music takes center stage. But being the Uruguayan’s son will have something to do with his vision of this profession that he had very clear since he was very little.

Pablo was born in San Lorenzo del Escorial and spent some time in London studying Composition and Electronic Music degree at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Music was always present in his house through his father and mother, Anna Laanand he was never afraid to admit that he wanted to follow in his footsteps, he saw it as something natural.

In 2022 he released his first album when he was ready to make his own vision of music known to the world, which, despite the distance he maintains from his father, have one point in common: the care of letters that arrive.

The Rebellion of Jorge Drexler

Collaboration

Next September he will release a new album of which he has already presented three songs: Despierta, Otra vida and Ahora, Sidekicka collaboration with Guitarricadelafuente. A tandem that represents the freshness of a new generation of artists with different proposals.

We wrote this song in an afternoon. Álvaro thought in silence for a while and then said ‘-eh… and for example… something’s ‘backseat’?’ And I said ‘sisisi… and ‘sidekick’?’ I hope you like it as much as I do,” he shared on social networks where he is not particularly active.

The result is a minimalist theme that shows us that The voice and guitar are enough basis for a song to immerse us in an atmosphere that makes us travel..

With projection

Nathy Peluso, Omar Ayuso either C. Tangana They are some of those who comment on his few publications. Precisely with C. Tangana he has collaborated on the only two releases he had last year Estrecho/Alvarado and the anthem for Celta de Vigo. A year in which Pablopablo has been on tour with an English group, he has recorded for the Colors channel and has participated in the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris.

He does not stop taking steps forward, he has been selected by Spotify to be part of RADAR Spainthe program that supports emerging talent.
