Nick Cave and Warren Ellis compose music for upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson shared some photos of herself in the studio with the two musicians on Instagram, saying it was ” a dream » to work with Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. In a statement, she added: “ Nick and Warren were the only musicians I thought of to compose the music for Back to Black. Over the years, I listened to everything they composed and wanted to realize the dream of working together. Their sensitivity and understanding of history gave rise to profound and moving film music. »

Cave and Ellis have collaborated closely for three decades, and their joint work includes numerous film scores and soundtracks. Their first film project was the music for the western The Proposal in 2005 (Cave also wrote the screenplay), while other notable music includes The assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford in 2007 and The road in 2010. More recently, they composed the music for Blonde hairthe controversial Marilyn Monroe biopic (directed by longtime collaborator Andrew Dominik), and the hit Netflix series, Dahmer.
