MI AMI FESTIVAL 2024 there will also be PHOENIX (Info and Tickets)

Music news

The line up of the MI AMI Festival scheduled at the Idroscalo in Milan from 24 to 26 May 2024 is expanded.

A new series of announcements formalizes the presence on the stage of the festival of beautiful music and kisses of some of the most interesting names on the Italian and international music scene, such as the highly anticipated Phoenix, whose link with the Italian musical imagination is well known, and again Diss Gacha, Rosa Chemical, Tony Boy, the Americans Cumgirl8, Marco Castello, Lauryyn, Santamarea, Tony Scorpioni and Il Mago del Gelato.

An increasingly rich and surprising program to celebrate an important edition: in fact, MI AMI will blow out its first eighteen candles and for this fundamental stage, in the wake of the two previous editions, it will also bring some international bands to the stage on Sunday, underline how the good state of the Italian music industry today also depends on an equal comparison with what is happening in the world.

Among the undoubtedly most special presences on the MI AMI stage are Phoenix, a world-class French band who have already headlined the most important festivals around the globe. Strengthened by their love for Italian music – to which they dedicated the album “Ti amo”, as well as having collaborated with artists such as Giorgio Poi and Calcutta, and having invited Pop exact from the masterpiece album “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”, released in Europe on 25 May 2009 with hits such as “Lisztomania” and “1901”.

On an international level, Phoenix is joined by Cumgirl8 from the United States, a cult female group on the New York post-punk scene who dedicated a song to “Cicciolina”, a porn star honored in a single of the same name and taken as a symbol for their struggle for liberation from capitalism and patriarchy, in addition to the already announced Bar Italia, an experimental English trio.

Rap fans, however, will be happy with the duo of some of the most interesting names on the new scene: Diss Gacha and Tony Boy. The first, born in Turin in 2001 with millions of views; the second from Padua, together with his partners Nerissima Serpe, Kid Yugi and Artie 5ive, is in the top 5 of the best newcomers of the genre.

There are also some very welcome returns. Starting with Marco Castello, a Sicilian singer-songwriter between funk and jazz who signed the beautiful album “Pezzi della sera” in 2023, and Rosa Chemical, who took the stage at MI MANCHI in 2021 and who is now ready to enjoy a MI AMI without social distancing, all after the enormous success achieved with his participation in Sanremo in 2023. Also on the bill are Il Mago Del Gelato, last year’s revelation band with an incredible mix of afrobeat, library music and electronics, and Tony Scorpioni , steampunk knight with a sensual voice and a lot of charisma.

Also in today’s announcement are Lauryyn, a true revelation of Italian nu soul, and Santamarea, a band from Palermo acclaimed for their great work of artistic research. As always, artists of greater fame are joined by new projects, in full miamer spirit. New names will be announced soon.
