The music of marlena has always been like an open door to the soul of its members, Carol and Ana, but with the release of their second album, Between four walls and a truththe Madrid duo invites us to discover something even deeper: a story of grief, overcoming and, above all, self-discovery.
This album is not only a set of songs with a common theme, but a letter in the form of sincericide and an emotional journey through different stages of a process that, without a doubt, has marked their lives and careers irrevocably. Thus, Between four walls and a truth arrives like a chapter closing for both artists, who consider this album as their first “real” project, which truly reflects their sincere and daring style, but also the maturity they have acquired as artists.
The path to reaching this release has not been short or easy, as it began more than a year ago and in parallel with the preparation of his performance for the Benidorm Fest 2024 and a tour of some of the most recognized festivals and stages in the country. . All this experience has only enriched the process of composing and recording the album that has ended up being a most honest work and that has served as therapy for both Carol and Ana, and can probably also be of help to anyone who listens to the songs and feels identified.

Between four walls and a truth by Marlena: one album and five phases
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance are the phases through which the different songs of Between four walls and a truthand each one of them tells a story, which goes from the euphoria of that summer love even the urge to scream DEEPLY that you have already turned the page and learned from each of the battles you have had to face in a relationship that, in one way or another, has already come to an end.
And the title is precisely a reflection of the sincerity that lives in the acts of a person who loves and that everything he does, he does because it is born to him, without any explanation beyond what love means. And in the words of the duo, it represents “the greatest truth that social networks hide”. Because while the outside shows us idealized lives, the truth is that each person lives their emotional battles, their duels and their confessions in the intimacy of those “four walls” that make up their private life.
Marlena, with this album, has decided to share that truth with her usual audience and with those who want to join now, making her music a space where sadness, loss and healing can be shared, understood and, without a doubt, , sung over and over again.
A more mature sound and two collaborations: The Tyets and Paula Mattheus
And in the musical aspect, Between four walls and a truth It stands out not only for its lyrical content, one that makes Marlena distinctive for being loaded with real stories, but also for the mature and cohesive sound that they have achieved over time. Likewise, the album contains two collaborations very specials: I'll be better tootogether with the Catalan group The Tyetsand I don't wish you the worst 🙂a fun song full of irony that features the participation of Paula Mattheus. Both collaborations bring fresh nuances to the album, reflecting the multiple facets that this loving experience can bring out in us.
2025 promises to be a year full of emotions for Marlena and her followers, since the duo has confirmed a tour that will be named after one of the central songs of the album: A pleung lung. On this tour, which will start early next year, Ana and Carol seek to connect even more with their audience, inviting them to join an intense and liberating experience, singing each story until it no longer hurts.
