The legendary American rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd announces a date at the Zénith in Paris in July.
Ten years after their last visit to the Capital, Lynyrd Skynyrd announces its big return to the Zénith in Paris on July 10. Tickets will be available on January 22 at 11 a.m. via the group's website, on January 23 at 11 a.m. via the Gérard Drouot Productions and Zénith sites, before general sale on January 24, still at 11 a.m.
This date is part of the celebration of the group's 50th anniversary, which the group continues to celebrate. “From their timid beginnings in Jacksonville, through tragedies, reformations and redemption, the group managed to find a place among WECB's '100 Greatest Artists of All Time', as well as a place of choice in the hearts of several generations” can we read on the group's official website. “In 2023, the band celebrated the 50th anniversary of its debut album, Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd, and continues to tour, record and attract millions of fans around the world by highlighting both its future and its consequent legacy. »
If Lynyrd Skynyrd has not played in Paris since 2015, the legendary American group's last visit to France dates back to 2019, during a concert at Hellfest. If the first two albums occupied a special place in the songs played, notably with “Free Bird,” “Simple Man” or even “Sweet Home Alabama,” the group also did not hesitate to play titles from more recent ones, notably from Gods and Guns (2009).
This concert was initially part of a farewell tour, which was also the subject of a live album, released in 2019, entitled The Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour.
In 2023, Lynyrd Skynyrd lost its last founding member, Gary Rossington, at the age of 71. “Gary is now with our brothers in heaven and playing well there, as always. Please pray for (his wife) Dale, (his daughters) Mary and Annie, and the entire Rossington family and respect their privacy during this difficult time.” the group declared in a press release.
Between homage to its heritage as well as its late members, Lynyrd Skynyrd is ready to offer a moment of southern rock and contemplation on the occasion of its big return to Paris, on July 10.
