Louane has just revealed a brand new song entitled “Et si”, in addition to her latest album “Solo”. A very personal piece in which the singer responds to hurtful criticism of her physique.
“I'm angry with the whole world for letting my heart burn / For commenting too much on my body / For letting my fears grow“, sings Louane in her new single “What if“. Released Thursday December 19, this song is a continuation of his fifth album “Solo”. Like the entire project, this song addresses a very personal theme.
In “Et si”, Louane talks about how she was affected by the criticism leveled against her. Often the victim of grossophobic remarks on social networks, the interpreter of “La Pluie” sings in the chorus of this moving piano-voice: “And if I hate myself, it's also my open wounds / It's toxic, I wish everything would stop / And if I hate myself, it's also because of the words I read / I wish everything stops“. Moving words that sound like a cry from the heart.
Faced with this overwhelming sincerity, Louane's fans did not hide their emotion. “Tears in the car this morning. I'm not going to get over this song“, testifies a user on Instagram. “Don't make us cry like that, your words are so touching“, another is moved. For Pierre de Maere, this song is quite simply “sublime“, as he writes in the comments of Louane's publication on Instagram.
“I’m trying to accept myself.”
At the release of her album “Solo”, the singer engaged in these verbal attacks which targeted her on social networks. In an interview given to Parisianon October 24, 2024, she confided: “The first time I was a victim of fatphobia, I was a size 38, it was for the Victoires de la Musique in 2019. I spent my Saturday crying in front of Twitter.“
For the 28-year-old young woman, today mother of little Esmée, the song “Et si”, like her album, appears to be a real therapy. “Now I try to accept myself and share it in my songs. If I can help people with my songs, it's great,” said Louane.
Her fans will have the opportunity to sing this song heart to heart with her and show their support, during her major Zénith tour which will begin in September 2025 and will pass through the Accor Arena in Paris on February 20, 2026.
