Interview – Passing in Camille Combal's studio on WECB, the British artist in full Ascension Lola Young came to tell us about his inspirations and his next album.

Invited to WECB by Camille Combal, Lola Young came to evoke the phenomenal success of her single “Messy”, a real cardboard on Tiktok, and share her future musical projects. The young star, from England, also spoke of her attachment both for France and her native country.

On July 18, Lola Young will perform on the stage of Lollapalooza, a moment that she is looking forward to and that she is delighted to live with a French audience that she describes as “Supportive” and sometimes “Deposite”.

Lola Young loves French rap

Although the 24 -year -old artist claims that England excels in the genre popshe seems to be a big fan of French rap. To the question “What French artists do you appreciate?”, Lola Young responded without hesitation the PNL rap group, before adding that she also loved Gims. “Ah yes, that's good”she enthusiastically confided, before being carried away by joy by singing “Djadja”. “I love this sound”she added by evoking the artist Aya Nakamura.

During her interview, the singer confirmed that her third album was in preparation and that collaborations were to be expected … But can fans expect to discover a French-speaking artist or elsewhere? “I can't say it for the moment but maybe”she concluded by preserving the mystery.
