LIVE REPORT: Motocultor Open Air 2024

Music news

A look back at the latest edition of the Motocultor Open Air, which took place from August 15 to 18 in Carhaix.

For its 15th edition, the Motocultor continues, with 54,000 festival-goers gathered over four days, as in 2023. A now essential event for many Augustian metalheads, it boasts an exemplary line up, which combines popular headliners like Architects And Meshuggahrising stars like Jinjer Or Dewolffwithout forgetting the French scene with Karras And Igorrr.

Supported by an audience as fervent as it was enthusiastic, with their fists raised in front of Beast in Black or the easy pogo in front Sonata Arcticathe festival does not fail to include some curiosities in its programming, such as Bernard Minetwho revisits his cartoon credits in a metal version, or Didier Superwho handles political incorrectness with as much mastery as ever.

We also remember the Swedish masters ofOpethmixing progressive rock and death metal in a set full of classics, with a frontman who is always so fair in his banter. Success behind a humorous veneer, that is the secret of Motocultor.

The first names of the 2025 edition of the Motocultivator Open Air have already been communicated. Machine Head And Dimmu Borgir are among the first headliners. They will be accompanied in particular by Blind Guardian, Between The Buried and Me or even Me and That Man.

For the moment, this is only the first round of groups present in August 2025. More than 100 groups are expected on the Breton site, from the most famous to the most unexpected.
